World Traveler | Story Teller | Blogger

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Jen. I am a Pittsburgh girl, but have been living in Austin, Texas most of my adult life. Although I would love to be traveling and taking photographs full-time, I still have my corporate day job because my children are still on my payroll and they are expensive. Current sitch: 2 sons, 2 step-daughters, hubs, a dog (a Goldendoodle named Mabel), and a cat (a shelter-adopted tabby named Twyla).

Like a lot of people, I didn’t travel much until my college years. Growing up, my parents’ idea of a vacation was visiting relatives or going on family camping trips. If I never have to pitch a tent again in my life, it will be too soon.

Once I started really traveling as a young adult, planning trips and discovering new adventures became my mood therapy and passion. The natural world, history, people groups, and different cultures fascinate me. I’m just in awe of it all.

I am now at a stage in life where I don’t have super young kids, but I’m not retired either. In other words, I’m too old for youth hostels, but too young for the bus tours. What do you even call that? Anyway, if you are somewhere in the middle of life, I’m here for you.

I’m not a budget traveler. You won’t ever hear me call myself that. I love swanky hotels, cushy rides, top rated restaurants and great shopping. That being said, I do look for deals and leverage reward programs whenever possible.

I travel with my adult-ish children, husband, extended family, and friends – depending on the destination and who I can recruit. I love traveling with all the different people in my life. After all, that’s what it is really about…sharing experiences with those you love, preferably not in a tent;)
